Another thing I’ll miss when I leave…the European approach to advertising. The media is so saturated with messages and political talking points centreing around global warming at present. Yet this ad, by Ogilvy Portugal, manages to make a distinct impression.
For a Comm major, who’s studied how aphasia effects even the deaf and dumb who sign, you kinda feel tempted to point out that those hands are still speaking (in a manner of…) and not actually carrying out an earth-saving action. But that’s probably just me. Residual fallout from getting too deep into them textbooks.
The approach is still definitely appreciated though. And I’ll miss seeing ads that I enjoy as much as regularly scheduled programming.

I find it sad that many of us, including myself, have adverts we enjoy and consider favorites. Despite the important content of this particular advert the damn thing was still effing sponsored by mtv. We live in a world where environmental issues have corporate sponsorship. But then again maybe I should keep my head out of them books too.
I still enjoyed it too.
