OK, so there was another entry worth posting from my medicated stupor. Oprah’s been getting a great deal of media attention for this O Magazine cover:

Oprah asks: "How did I let this happen to me again?"

I know that part of the reason why so many are harping on this is because Ms. Winfrey got a little self-righteous after her weight-loss — well more than a little, coming out screaming, “I get it people…I GET IT,” wearing lycra. Part of me does wonder though whether she’d have to answer that much for her physical appearance if she were a successful male.

Winfrey is worth US$2.7 billion dollars (according to Forbes). She was once the world’s only black billionaire. I don’t measure someone’s worth by their wealth but with the odds she’s beaten and the cultural impact she has had, why are we still on her belly?

What’s probably the worst thing about this is that it’s self inflicted. She called herself out. Guess she wanted to curb the backlash. Wish she held out.

Look O get over it. It’s ok!

I respect Oprah for all she is and all she does, but I am a little sick of the fat conversation. If you are unhealthy because of your weight, deal with it; eat right, excercise, smile! If you are not unhealthy get around some brothers who like the thickness!!! I mean really.

And ok, you are self-conscious- Where is Stedman? So much to be happy about and this is your cover storey? Please see a therapist and find out what’s really stuck in your craw!
