Here’s a clip from Before the Music Dies. It’s a great documentary on the crap that’s pulled with music today. The one little tidbit of info that shocked the hell out of me was the Auto-Tune plugin that corrects bad pitch in the vocal performances of tone-deaf singers.

The film is being distributed by a great little outfit called Bside.com. I love the way their service works. The film is available in a low resolution file for US$2.99, a high-res (DVD quality) file for US$7.99 or on a physical DVD for US$14.99 (plus p+p).

Here’s why I love them. If you buy the US$2.99 file and decide later that you want the higher resolution download or the physical DVD, Bside will subtract the US$2.99 you have already paid when you make that second purchase. Same goes if you have bought the US$7.99 and decide you want the physical DVD. O and one more thing, all their files are DRM free!
